<p />I have been accused of being "less that brilliant" on more than a few occassions...[p]But I'm smart enough to back up the truck each year when the "Hatch" Chilies show up locally....[p]Here...that is usually the last two weeks in August.[p]If you haven't ever had one...I'd say they're like an "Anaheim" but with lots more flavor!![p]Generally they come in mild and hot varieties.[p]If you can get'em....get'em!![p]Tell'em.... Lawn Ranger!![p]I'm doing up some "Megga BT's" this evening along with some stuffed Shrooms!![p]P40900562.jpg[p]Wrapped...stuffed...and ready!![p]P40900702.jpg[p]Have a "Veggie...Good Evening"!![p]Evans
I spent most of my money on good bourbon, and bad women...the rest, I just wasted!!

    Chubby,
I'd say that "less than brilliant' is a little severe....(I'm trying not to grin at this time)..."not the sharpest tool in the shed", maybe....but certainly not "less than brilliant".[p]Regardless, you take some really nice pics, and you have excellent taste in Balsamic Vinegar. BTW...Those Hatch Chilies nearly killed me on vacation! [p]Your friend,[p]Mike

    Chubby,
Nearly killed me through overindulgence, that is.[p]LR

  • Chubby,
My wife and I were just talking about making a Chile Run to
Hatch. We did one last year and bought 120 lbs. of Hot, Extra
Hot and Red chiles. We had a roasting party and divided them
up with the family. Time to make another run. We're in Phoenix
so Hatch isn't that far and it's a nice overnight ride for us.
I agree with the taste of the Hatch chiles - had a few tonight
on my burger - YUM. Enjoy the chiles!![p]

    Chubby,
    You're ma man!
Are store-bought Anaheims hot or mild. I can get them here in land-locked Wiscinsin once in awhile.

WDAN,[p]Most I've ever had were pretty mild.[p]It's a good starter Chile...IMHO....very good saute'd in cast iron with onions and taters, maybe with a side of Bertoli beans and cornbread!!!![p]I believe my hands are quivering.[p]LOL!![p]Evans[p]PS...[p]Where are you located in the Socialist Republic of Wisconsi"?[p]

Chubby,[p]Central Market here has their Hatch Chile festival every year. This be the time! Can you tell me what you stuffed these with and how you cooked them? If I can preserve the devils, might be the perfect thing for Oklahoma-fest! Same with the mushrooms. Those looks, sniff, bootiful.[p]mShark

    Chubby,
Having spent a few years in New Mexico, I have it on good authority that the fruit Mr. Snake gave Eve was none other than a Hatch chile! ;-)[p]Ken

  • Chubby,[p]Great pics! Albertsons has them for $15 for a thirty pound bag. That's a heck of a lot cheaper than I can get them on the internet for. I'm gonna roast, vacuum seal and freeze a bag this weekend.

    K_sqrd,
The crop wasn't so good this year so be prepared to pay. For the unroasted ones it was $1.00/pound this year!

mollyshark,[p]I did the standard ABT... cream cheese, chopped garlic, little smokies (2 each) and bacon.[p]If you lik'em hotter, get the hot variety, or cut some serano chile strips and tuck them inside like little bombs!![p]Evans[p]
