What do you do when the Governor declares a State of Emergency? Slip and slide your way home after a brief 2 hours at work and smoke some ribs!

Did you have to stop to pick up ribs and beer or were you pre prepared?

  • Hey wait a minute, I live in VA and I've heard nothing about an emergency.  I want my ribs too.  Seriously, looks great and hope y'all on the other end of the state are safe.

The ribs were frozen and already rubbed. I did a quick thaw and rinse and lathered with yellow mustard and re rubbed. I always have a few beers at the ready. Those kind of emergencies happen all the time.

Well played 500. That was my plan when we were supposed to get a bunch of white stuff a couple weeks ago. Didn't have a state of emergency here. :((
I raise my kids, cook and golf.  When work gets in the way I'm pissed, I'm pissed off 48 weeks a year.

It would only really be an emergency if you got home and found you were out of ribs and beer!

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

Maybe I need to run spares longer than baby backs. That could be my problem. They were a bit on the chewy side. I will say that the Egg held steady at 275* to spite the cold blowing snowstorm. I got inspiration from Hap on this cook. I thought, there's a major snow storm happening, why not do a long slow cook to show off the Egg's cooking efficiency.

If you get a chance, go take the Yuengling brewery tour. Very cool and you get samples at the end.

We did the tour on the way to a Niagara Falls, ON trip.  Fun.  The kids liked their draft root beer.
