Frozen Shut

Temps have been below freezing around here for a while and as I went out to try out my new adjustable rig setup I found the lid frozen shut.  Any suggestions on the best way to break the seal?  I was thinking inserting a lit fire starter or two through the sliding door at the bottom, but not sure if that would generate enough heat or not...any suggestions would be welcome.

    Several threads on this topic this time of year. Fire starters probably the best option.

  • Someone mentioned a paper towel soaked in veg. Oil. Same ways some folks lite their lump

  • Took a while but it did work eventually, late dinner better than no dinner at all! Love my new adjustable rig, wings devoured before I could get a picture of them.
