The thermometer to my Green Egg has water inside. I have tried rice to draw it out, but no luck. Any thoughts?

Mine always has condensation in it. When I use the egg, it usually dries up. But by the time I use it again, it's there again. I tried a few things like sealing it with silicone but nothing seem to work. I have the old style thermometer, wonder if the newer ones (Tel-Tru) have this issue?Packerland, Wisconsin

Nice idea Stike...makes me wonder why they don't do that at the factory.

well, i think because it isn't supposed to leak or condense. i drilled the hole not so much to let water out, but to short circuit any condensation the air in the thermo is now the air that's outside the thermo.
