Saving the bark using a rib rack

Hey gang...would like some tips. I've done ribs many times and use a rib rack. Seems like every time, I lose some of the bark while trying to get the ribs out of the slots. I also lose a bit of rub while getting the half racks into the slots. Ideas? And doing 3.5 rack - laying flat not going to happen...thanks!

Get a multi-tier rack. You may have to cut the ribs in portions before smoking, but works much better for me than the V-rack.
