I cook a whole chicken on the "beer can stand" at 350 for about 2 hours.
Check internal temp 180 degrees is done. -
350 degrees until done.
180 degrees wings and thighs...160-170 degrees breast. (I pull breasts at 160 if I'm cooking them alone) -
cook at 400° until breast is 160° that will take about one hour and fifteen min.
-
I like rubbed, on the stand, raised grid, direct heat, 375 deg, should be at 160 deg breast in about hour and 1/2 to two hours. Super moist and delicious!

Perfect timing on the question, I'm trying my first chicken tomorrow too. Thanks guys!_____________

I also go at 400 for about an hour and fifteen minutes.
-
I did these guys at 400* indirect for around 90 minutes. YMMV.
-
Indirect 400 till breast is minimum 160 and thighs minimum 185 (One will beat the other)
Just for kicks and basting, split a lemon and juice, add garlic butter to the juice, take out the pulp, add the lemon, garlic butter mixture back to the lemon halves, freeze, and then slide under the skin.
