Baking Stone Question

Cracked my baking stone on the egg this afternoon with a take and bake pizza. Point and laugh. Yes a take and bake pizza. But I can't lie, Papa Murphy's Chicago stuff pizza is good when egged. Shake on a little dessert heat from Buffalo Wild Wings and a couple shakes of dizzy dust, you have one good pizza. Anyways, I need a new baking stone and was wondering what I should look for in a baking stone? One brand better than others? Any tips or suggestions would be great. Thanks

I ordered the "Old Stone 16-Inch Round Oven Pizza Stone" from Amazon & have been nothing but impressed w/ the results!! :woohoo:

P.S. I also have the "Super Peel" pizza peel, and really like how it works (though, after receiving it, I realized I could've made my own w/ a regular peel, a router, some fabric, and some clips) - but nonetheless, it works great also!!
HTH,
RobDon't get set into one form, adapt it and build your own, and let it grow, be like water. Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless — like water. Now you put water in a cup, it becomes the cup... Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend. - Bruce Lee -

Another Lewis Center Egger! I'm in the Village of Alum Creek at S. Old State and Lewis Center Rd.
I've had a Large I purchased from Mr. Mulch for about three years.
Maybe there's hope for a Central Ohio Eggfest one day. Erik -
I went through about 3 stones before I decided to buy the BGE stone. I would recommend that one. I have had it for years and have never had an issue with it. I have even done pizza as high as 900 degrees with no problems.

Don't apologize for Papa Murphy pizza, they are awesome. Way better than anything I have yet concocted. But I am still trying.

Ceramic Grill Store stones for me - no problems so far. Go with the Central Ohio Eggfest idea!!

I am sure that the BGE stone and the Ceramic Grill Store stones work great, but I prefer Fibrament-D stones. I have the one used for grills(It just comes with a metal pan) Many bakers use this material over ceramic.

Anyone have experience with the glazed stone such as the Primo stone over the others?
