I am getting ready to put an 8lb flat on the Egg here in around an hour or two. This will be my first. The big question I have is will I ruin the brisket if Im not up mopping all night. I have faith in the Egg holding temp and not having to babysit all night. I would like to sleep though instead of mopping all night. Will it be all that big of a deal without?

I've never mopped a brisket and mine taste fine to me.
If it is a thin flat brisket, then mopping might make sense. Try to find a source for a packer cut brisket for future cooking.
Two great sources of brisket cooking information are:

Chumdog, I don't ever mop mine either. Let us know how it turns out.
