I used 3M 77 in a spray can. I sprayed it into a paper cup and then spread it with a small paint brush.Applied a little at a time and then pressed in the gasket.Overlapped the ends and cut at an angle to get the seam.Put the seam at the back (hinge).Dave San Jose, CA The Duke of Loney

I also used 3m 77, in case you don't know put the nomex gasket in your clothes dryer on high for 15 to 20min to preshrink it. If you have not looked at the video on Fred's music & BBQ site I wold reccomend it, very good info and it will step you through how to put t on.

Me too on the 3M 77. I just sprayed it on. Let it set for a few minutes then worked the Nomex around the rim staying out of the inside of the rim by about an 1/8 of an inch. I too pre-shrunk the material in the dryer. It went on easily. My problem is getting the bands to line up the dome correctly. I don't think the Nomex has anything to do with that, however. I posted some pics of the install here last night.
