Has anyone installed a Tel-Tru BQ300 Thermometer on their Egg? I like the large dial and could use some ideas on how to make this work. Thanks, AZDad

AZDad;
I would suggest doing research on the Tel Tru replacements... It has been my experience
That the stems are to long and can interfere with the cook when it is high in the dome.
Just my thoughts; Merry Christmas! -
I'm not certain that is the one you should get for the BGE. It looks like that model only has a 2.5" stem making the readings a little suspect in such a thick shelled cooker like the BGE.
You might want to read the following link for some help on Tel-Tru thermos.

I just took a look at them and they're not for the BGE. They either have a 1/4" diameter stem or a 1/2" NPT connection. The BGE replacement units have a 0.150" diameter stem to fit the hole in your dome. It would take a pretty significant modification of your dome to fit one in.

My dealer got some xl eggs in and they came with Tel Tru therms. Is this something new?
