Best time to put in platesetter?

I am fixing to fire up the egg for some 3-2-1 ribs for the game tonight (ROLL TIDE!!!!) and just wonder should I put the plate setter on before I get the temp to 250 or wait until afterwards. I have used the plate setter numerous times and have done it both ways, but I am just wondering which way is best. Thanks eggheads for all your help!!!

I prefer to put it in before the egg gets to temp.

If you struggle with temp control you might wait, but with your experience you can drop it in anytime, making little difference.
ps..dont think the VOLs are going to be any problem. -
I put it in after i have a steady flame. That way everything come to temp at once.

I prefer to put it in after temp has stabalized at the 250-275 range. If it were for pizza I would put it in at the start to give it time to heat with the egg, but in this case it is a barrier to therect heat and it's temp is not that critical. Also by waiting, you can add some wood if desired before adding food. This step is more difficult with the place setter installed. Best of luck and enjoy the ribs and the game.
