No pictures but how can the egg make a 88 cent hot dog taste so GOOD? 88 cents for the whole package.

we pass the Bar-S plant to and fro OKC Eggfest each year!
brings back childhood memories--the only kind of hot dog Mom would purchase :P -
I love Bar-S chipped chopped ham. It's a 'Burgh thing.

those hot dogs wont even turn the water red they are so cheap. the egg can work wonders but this is a miracle!!!

I tried Bar-S bacon not long ago. It was pretty good, especially for $1.49/pk.

not starting a feud OK?...but after paying $8+ per pound for Pearl's frankfurters to be shipped out here I have settled in loving the taste of them being steamed to keep their wonderful spices, meat, etc inside the natural casing.

I wouldn't eat a Bar-S hot dog again if you paid me. We buy a pack every so often because it makes giving pills(medicine)to our two dogs easier. A couple of years ago, I was pinched for time and needed a fast meal, so I threw some Bar-S dogs on the egg.(I was all out of beef Hebrew Nats) They were edible, but when I left one dog on the grill accidently, the dog's true colors showed themselves. By the time dinner was finished and I remembered that I had left one dog on the egg, it had shrunk to the size of a little smokey! A little bit of shrinkage is to be expected with nearly any sausage during cooking, but Bar-S dogs must be loaded with fats and fillers. I won't eat another one. My dogs don't seem to mind them though.
On another note, maybe now that the weather has cooled some, maybe Pearl with ship second day again.

second day shipping will return weather permitting was what Peggy told me.Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

You know I just love to needle you about that. :P

I know I know - but trust me when $160 of thawed wienies hit your doorstep you'd pick up the phone too! I immediately isolated the most thawed ones for first consumption. No problem with them since it wasn't like they were warm in the box.Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

Agreed. 13 years ago, when I was living on a wing and a prayer in college, I bought some bars dogs to suppliment my pork and bean diet. I threw them out and stuck with just the beans.
Now, once again on a shoestring budget thanks to this economy, I see them in the store and I can't bring myself to buy them again.
