was gonna post some pics of a great simple dinner we had whose surprise hit was some chilled gazpacho.
but i was told offline that gazpacho is decidedly "less than manly" shall we say. and so, just understand that it was damn good.
i got enough grief for the couscous i posted when we went camping... :ermm:

Gazpacho??? I thought that was Pinocchio's friend... :P
-
Wrong
Gazpacho = Manly
Mojito = Unmanly
No pics = No do -
i said it happened, so it happened.
actually, i think you missed my point... -
holy crap, enuff with the no pics. i have pics, just ain't bothering to post them...
-
Gazpacho is manly enough, but I'm not so sure about the couscous...on a camping trip? I'm outta here at the first batch of vichyssoise...
-
What does Snopes say about that?
-
It's a sad thing to see a man allowing others to determine his masculinity. I happen to love mojitos, and last night I baked, did the dishes, and prepared my morning smoothie...and then went to bed, where there wasn't any questioning my masculinity.
Post the dang pictures. You know you want to, or you wouldn't have told us you have them. Let the nay-sayers say neigh, and prove themselves to be the horses' heinies they are. :silly: -
someone is going to have to enlighten me as to what makes couscous 'gay' (to use the pejorative term i was told).
frikkin pasta in a different shape. 5 minute cook, kids eat it up as a side.
ah well, i guess we must have conceived our kids magically then. -
hmm for the longest time there were not pics of stike.... but we found out he is real :woohoo: but I can't side with you here Jeff :( you know the "rule" no pic???? did it really happen????
-
they do look mostly like Darlene......
-
I have a couple friends who are SEALs; they take couscous to make on little alcohol stoves during their longer missions.
Makes me feel more secure with myself when eating it. -
Not "gay," just not what pops into mind for camping grub. I'm sure it was delicious. Now, if you finished it off with a creme brulee'...
-
One of my summer favorites!
-
Do you eat yours with a knife? Is that what makes it manly???? ROFLMAO
I do crack myself up sometimes... :woohoo: :silly: -
nah. i'm not threatened. i think there's generally more insecurity in those pointing the fingers.
the comments were made to me as jokes, of course, and i don't doubt the person's 'manliness' any more than I think they doubt mine, but it does get old. i really thought that the whole idea of "that's >insert-favorite-homosexual-pejorative-here -
creme brulee is fantastic.
actually, i should say FAB-YOO-LUSS -
couscous isnt gay, its just the way you like saying itfukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it
-
...of course some here may say "aha!" and point to the rainbow tablecloth...
screw-em, i say. that looks great. shrimp, too, eh? i may need to doctor the recipe a bit because we have ten or twelve tomatoes coming in every day. -
well then pick another word for me to whisper in your ear. i thought you just liked the sound of my voice.
by the way, you keep leaving your socks all over the floor. makes me crazy. ...me, always having to do the housework while you are off fishing. :( -
so your the one that keeps breaking into my house and putting the lid down when im gonefukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it
-
i had the BGE going cooking chicken and all, and tossed a pan with water in the fire. five minutes to boil, add the couscous, and stir, and wait another five minutes. done.
takes me longer to press the pleats in my skirt. -
Yeah, bad pic with the table cloth lol. Yes I like to add shrimp to it. It adds to the texture and the added protein is filling.
When I lived in Florida, conch was readily available and would use it. -
i could eat that with the shrimp in it, seems to be better that way :laugh:fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it
-
and leaving candles as gifts. you never call to thank me...
-
THIS???? you can take time to edit and post the dog of Fishless but no gazpacho?????
-
I don't want to say too much but there were a LOT of inquiring minds as to what the guys behind you was doing to you on the all too famous shirtless boat picture of yourself that you posted. Sorry Stike, but you gotta wonder there.
-
Amen to that. There was no GAZPACHO!!! Wake up Stike it was only a dream. :P
-
that pic predates your time here
