How many Eggers in the DC area?

I currently live in an apartment in Silver Spring, MD. But, my wife and I finally bought a house in Sterling, VA and we move in during the last week of August.

I got an XL Egg for an early anniversary gift from the wife and it gets delivered on Thursday to our new house. The wife will be there for delivery and setup. She has seen me reading this forum and surprised me with the purchase when we went to Offenbachers so I could show her what it looked like in real life.

I can't wait!!

Congratulations ! Cook her many good meals in the egg, and she will continue to support your new habit. Oh, you must also act excited about the new house too.

This egger lives in Fairfax VA, and my company (Dizzy Pig) is in Manassas VA. Yell if you have any questions on the area (spent my whole life around the beltway in MD and VA)...or pop on by for a visit if you're in the area.

    Welcome to our nation's capital!

What part of suburban KC did you call home?

I grew up around Faucett, my parents live in Parkville, my brother is in Leawood, and I have family scattered around Overland Park and Raytown as well.

Congrats on the anniversary gift. I live in southern maryland, about 25 miles south of D.C.
  • I am in Alexandria. I had a Large but sold it to a buddy and now have an XL (doing my best to convert as many people as possible). Welcome to the cult!
  • I'm in Springfield, VA (actually West Springfield, near Burke), about 15 miles SW of DC. Welcome to the cult and congratulations for getting out of Maryland. Just a joke Wess, etc...

Awesome gift, welcome to this side of the River. I live in Arlington, VA. I bought a hosue back in December and the egg followed soon after. We might have to have our own little eggfest sometime.

And what is wrong with the repulic of marylandstan?
I have been a good and loyal comrade here my entire life.
  • Great area, other than needing a good butcher who will sell packer briskets out west!
  • Thanks all.

I'm looking forward to using the Egg this weekend. Is it bad that we're going to grill at a place we haven't even moved into yet??!!

I grew up in a small town in southwest KS, went to college at KU and lived in Overland Park after graduating in 2001. I actually moved to the DC area (Alexandria) in 2004, so I've been here a while. We moved to Silver Spring in 2009 to be closer to the wife's work but we couldn't wait to move back to VA.

I've read a ton about Dizzy Pig rubs on this site, so I can't wait to give them a try.
  • Oh yeah, the XL is huge. It didn't look quite as big under the tent at Offenbachers. Oh well!!
