Well the kids start back Monday as well as my teacher wife. We always do some sort of back to school meal. It may be breakfast or some place special for lunch. This time it was supper. My son is a senior, and my daughter is a sophmore. My wife - the kindergarten teacher always makes things special for the kids and I so this time we had "senior steaks", "sophmore salad", and a "Bolton baked potato". The steak was a flat iron, just salt, pepper, raisin the steaks and on the egg at about 600 deg. Brushed with melted butter, worcestershire, and some salt. The taters were egged first at 400 then cranked it up for the meat.
The egg was good to us tonight.

School starts already ?! Our kids don't go back until Sept. 13.
Nice idea on the dinner. What are Bolton Baked Potatoes ? -
Schools down here usually start early to mid august. Bolton is the name of their school. One of my creative wife's ideas.

Makes sense. I was hoping for something new to do to a Baked Potato.
I liked the idea of just using salt and pepper on the steaks. "Less is More".
Just something to keep in mind.
Have a good day back to school
Thank your wife for teaching our kids. -
JoJo: That is just TOO cool!! You have very fortunate children, that you make things so special like that. The meal looks amazing, and the flat iron was cooked to perfection in my book. Nice going. (I especially loved the menu, with the message... )

Thanks LC, we only have a short time with them and we really want to make the best of it. I can't believe they are as old as they are. :(

Very nice dinner. I love the menu. I do that kind of stuff too but my disinterested teenager couldn't care less!Happily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!

JoJo, I can't believe it's that time of year already. Your steak dinner is surely a proper send off for the new school year!

Faith, when I was a kid I would have thought it was a little hinky but my kids love this stuff. Hey I'll take what ever I can get from them. Soon enough I'll be missing them. :(

Thanks Beli

Yes, it goes way too fast.

I can't believe it either, it was a very busy summer so it flew by.
