Temp wants to keep climing, having a difficult time holding 250* with it in mid 90's and sun shinning bright on egg....any suggestions?

Close it down almost.

Like 2fategghead said, shut it way down. It will take a while for the temp to drop, it won't need to be re-opened very much.

The sun shining on the egg should have no bearing on the internal temp. I cook in the hot FL sun all the time with no affect on temperature. Do what Frank and Tim say, and whatever you do, don't open the egg. The temp should drop, but it will be s l o w.

Faith is right, opening the egg when you are trying to drop temp just gives the lump a big shot of 02, not what you want
