Maple Bourbon Salmon with Sweet Potato Kabobs

I got some inspiration from Bobby and his BGE Academy class last Thursday and decided to do his Maple Salmon. My wife found a neat recipe for Sweet Potato Kabobs to go with the meal. Here we go!
The ingredients for the Sweet Potato Kabobs...
The potato's are peeled and then par boiled for 7 minutes...
Now while the potato's are boiling you can prep the salmon. They are coated well with Raging River...
Getting the egg ready. Indirect at 350 to 400...
Preheat the planks 5 to 8 minutes on both sides. I used maple planks this time instead of cedar...
Now the Salmon is ready to be egged. This cannot be achieved without the proper drink. A certain someone who shall remain nameless has gotten me on to bourbon and ginger ale  ...
With the glaze on. 1.5 stick butter and then add maple and bourbon to taste...
Now back to the potato's...
Skewered and then every other one is wrapped in bacon. Then they are coated in olive oil and salt and pepper...
The Salmon is finished and ready to rest while I get the potato's done...
Grilling the potato's was interesting on the skewers but now that the meal is finished I say forget that step and wrap all pieces in bacon, toothpick and then just grill without the skewers. They did taste really good...
Plated...
Thanks for hanging out. I will have some more tonight. Peace!

The potato's do not even need to be kabobs. Slice, Wrap. Toothpick and grill. Skip the skewer part. This is the greatest signature EVAR! -
I always enjoy your cook posts Dr Z. The Salmon and sweet taters look great.

Now thats my kinda cook. Cindy is healing from a biopisy taken from her mouth again but, when she heals I will egg that for her. Thanks for the inspiration and the tip on the sweet potatoes. You still parboil right? Great pic's. Oh and sorry about the Steelers this year I'm rooting for the Titans! :woohoo:

I am confused if you are a Steeler fan or not. Nice salmon.
Mike -
I am not a steeler fan. The koozie belongs to someone else. I found it in my campin gear and I am just letting him know that I am taking good care of it. :P :PThis is the greatest signature EVAR!

I think we should have a drawing for it, like the pizza kit. :woohoo: :woohoo:
That okay Terry? I am assuming that is who it belongs to.
