how clean to replace gasket

I removed the all the gasket on my large. Then I used some acetone to remove some of the old adhesive. It still feels like some of the old adhesive is on there. Should I use a pumice stone or wire wheel or sand paper or just some more acetone to try to clean the surface. I was just wondering how clean the surfaces have to be. I have a new nomex I need to put on with 3M 77.
thanks

I have used a wire wheel to remove the old glue. Just be careful not to get to carried away.

I have almost all of the old adhesive off but it is still a little gummy? does it have to be really clean?
