Have been eggin about 9-10 months, is there a need to do a high temp cleaning as a routine cleaning? Or when should one do this?

Personal preference... If the build up is really thick and you attempt a high temp cook (5-6 pizza night) you could have the gunk start to melt and flavor the food...
500-600 for a couple of hours seems to clean up nicely.. hotter than that could be overkill
Put everything in - plate setter, stone, racks,etc...

I may do a high temp clean after a cook when I have some lump left in the firebox. I may put my grills and my plate setter in and leave it wide open using up the left over lump and keeping a close eye on things while I do this. Tim

If you cook 5 times a week, maybe a cleaning burn every 6 months or so. 650 degrees for 3 hours is fine.
