New BGE firebox

Since my buddy finally got his new BGE yesterday we put it together. The new large fireboxes are not in two pieces. However, it does have a nice perfect cut right down the middle of the air vent section, about 1/8" wide. It appears this is what they are using for expansion and contraction now.

Hey Phil, yes there has been a pic or two posted here. THey look pretty nice. I suppose when mine breaks that is what I will get for a warranty replacement.

LOL. I just bought a new large demo last week at Ace Hardware. Cooked 3 times on it and then cleaned it out and saw this nice uniform "crack" on my firebox. Glad to know it's supposed to be there. I thought it looked awful smooth,straight and uniform to be a crack. Even happier now than I was.
