Cotronics gasket/ceramic adhesive

i am looking at getting a cotronics gasket. i was also considering getting some ceramic adhesive from them while im paying for shipping, just for when the plate setter breaks down.
are these gaskets still reccomended by eggers for their durability? the company tells me that they are safe to use in the egg.
what are the pros and cons of the cotronics vs the rutland?
the cotronics comes with adhesive already on the gasket, right?
they also have ceramic cement, very high temp. does it have a shelf life?
thanks for the opinions and knowledge!

My Cotronics gaskets are still good after 5+ years.
Do NOT get the tapes with the adhesive. They will not stay on. Use a high temp silicone or automotive gasket sealer.
You will need 12' for a large egg if you do top and bottom.
Try soaking your current felt with something like Goof-Off for 60 seconds and then lifting it off.
For removing the remains of the old gasket and prepping the ceramic surface for the new gasket, a flap wheel disk on an angle grinder works GREAT.
I did not have good results when I tried their adhesive with the egg fire box but that was some years ago.

Mr Food - I have installed Cotronics 397-41 (1500*, 1/8" x 100' on three large Eggs using Permatex Hi-temp silicone) The first time, I tried their adhesive-backed tape and it separated after the third use. Not recommended.
A roll of 100' costs $41.25 plus shipping, enough to do seven large Eggs.
Hope this helps. -
Thanks for the responses. I'll still waiting to hear from the company. Regardless, I didn't realize it was only sold in 100' lengths. I only need enough for a large. Didn't want to spend 60 bucks(shipping and adhesive) just for one large.
Anyone want to sell me some excess? Nobody will see this thread anyway since its buried! -
Mr Food - You have mail.
