I'll tell you this. I would be more than willing to burn my house down to not have the burning oil smell in my home. That was the part of deep frying that I hated the most. :laugh:This is the greatest signature EVAR! -
wrong spot,you replied to me.

I don't deep fry that often, but I haven't noticed a bad smell when doing it in the kitchen. I use peanut oil, which has a high smoke temp.
I don't qualify as being a safety judge, but I wouldn't let a little girl near a wok of hot oil. A flameout or a spill might inflict unimaginable injuries. Just two nights ago, they featured a Vietnamese restaurant that burned down because a fire started from oil in a wok. I'm just saying .......__________________________________________Dripping Springs, Texas.Just west of Austintatious -
I have a particular fondness for fried shrimp, and those look fantastic. Perfect color and I suspect the perfect doneness.
I don't deep fry, but I do pan fry in my Egg on occasion, it takes way less oil but does require turning..... Gary's warning in the above post is spot on. I have eaten fried fish off a white gas camping stove or cooked over campfire coals for decades and have seen a number of near misses, usually in the form of unexpected flare ups from spattering oil, or grease burns on the face or hands. (My most serious one required a visit to a plastic surgeon)
From experience I can tell everyone that a grease fire in a barbecue can get out of hand in a number of seconds, so use caution. Leather gloves are a must as is some kind of eye protection. I would have also rolled my cooker a little farther away from the garage.Happy Trails~thirdeye~Barbecue is not rocket surgery
