Myron Mixon on Jay Leno

I anxiously waited for Myron Mixon's name to come up on the list of guests on Jay Leno's show but never saw it mentioned. Then when I watched the show I was surprised that he was actually a guest of a guest, Sandra Bullock. She's cool for coming up with that idea.

But I was kinda disappointed that Myron never really got the full value of his being on the show. I realize they have to make good use of time but heck, he is a 3-time world champion. He should have gotten a lot more visibility.

Just my 2¢ worth.

I forgot it was on, and no longer have DVR service. Would like to have seen it as Im a fan of Bullock.

I totally agree with you. I thought they were going to sit down and interview him. I was disappointed. :(

I remembered it was on. I didn't hear them mention Mixon's name up front, but thought maybe I just missed it. I got thru the monologue before I fell asleep. hahaha When I woke up, the show was 2 minutes from over. Could always do with a Bullock sighting; she's quite lovely. Ah well............

If I had slept a bit longer, I could have done a 2AM Forum Check.

Long way to haul his pit and a lot of ribs to cook (for the whole audience) for just a few minutes of exposure. I'm sure he got paid well, though!

Hey, concerning Bulluck, if you have not seen "Blind SIde" you gotta go. It is an outstanding movie. Bullock should get an academy award - fabulous performance!

Oh, it was worth it for him. While I, too, hoped for an interview...hell....he broke the ice on a show that a million boatloads of people watch. Was clear as day that it was Myron Mixon that cooked ribs for the whole freakin audience. I've had his ribs, and the people in the audience know him now.

Plus he had Sandra Bullock introduce him. I'd say it was a success ;-)

Sandra, and I went to different schools together! I was very upset when she married that Harley riding freak Jessie! :woohoo: I did watch the monologue and Jay never mentioned Myron's name so I turned it off. So I missed out. :(

From what I understand they're not connected at all. Just two networks doing business together. Besides, Pitmasters has got to have a bigger buzz right now than Leno's show. LOL.

I don't think the chef's coat is quite as protected as the chef's toque w/r/t who is "allowed" to wear one.

Dr. BBQ wears one all the time, did he go to culinary school?

Lots of eggers wear the coats at fests, and many of them that do are not formally trained chefs.

Thanks, Bob. I agree that it was hardly worth staying up for...they practically treated Myron like a prop. I'd have liked to have seen him outside the frame of a BBQPM camera.
