Has anyone tried Sweet'n Smoky Sweetwood Blend (an arromatic mixture of apple, cherry, peach, pear, sugar maple...or so the bag says) chips with pork butts?
Just wondering if this may be too busy for pulled pork.
Apple chunks is my other option.
Thanks!

:woohoo: Mikey gave me some for smokin CHEESE! works great for that; may have to use a lot for a butt, though

Thanks DOW...thought would probably need a couple of handfuls at least

Hickory, Man. Hickory. This is pork butt we're talkin' 'bout here.
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

I thought it sounded interesting too! I know the chunks would actually work better for a long cook though.
Was thinking about using a couple of big handfuls spread throughout the lump if I use the chips. Just not sure if chips would generate much smoke for this. -
Use the blend...it's great. Really good on pork.

I use a lotta chips cause they are easier to find.I usually put 2-3 big handfuls in then stir the lump.Works for me!

Thanks! I was hoping someone had eggsperience with it. Do you think a couple of big handfuls spread throughout the lump will work? Unfortunately, only have chips in the blend.

Cool! It's a go then! I'll let you know how it is.
-
That's how I use them.
