Do you mean the dome dial-type thermometer?

Get a Tel-tru. They're under $20 and work great.
You can buy one from their web site - http://www.tel-tru.com/s-136-big-green-egg-grill-dome-kamado-replacement-thermometer.aspx
Note that the stem is an inch longer than the stock dome thermometer, so you need to use something as a spacer to keep it sticking out a bit. I just use the metal clip that it comes with, though others use a bit of wood or a wine cork.
