I just received an "XL" ash tool but it wasn't labeled and I suspect it may be a "Large" ash tool.

Can someone measure their XL Ash tool and tell me how wide the rake is? I want to veryify that I have the right one.

Thanks in advance!

  • I just requested an ash tool for both my XLG and small. THe dealer told me there was just one size. I hope to pick it up this evening. I guess I'll find out it "one size fits all".
  • The rake on my XL ash tool is 3" wide by 1.25" tall. The overall length is 26.75.

    Hope this helps.
  • The one size fits all DEALER?????? Is a DUD. One size don't fit all. There are 3 sizes. Mini-Small...Med.-Lg. & the xl. LOL at your dealer????
  • The large ashtool is hard to use on the small. BGE makes one for the small.

Looks like I have the right one. Thanks for the quick response.

Rebecca, there are different sizes for the ash tools. I also have a SM and XL and the ash tools are way different!!
  • Thanks gang. Just another thing to staighten out today. It didn't sound quite right to me. I should have pressed the issue. Hope my half moon cast iron that I ordered fits. Oh well, my dealer is a bottled gas company, so I guess that's what I get. lol.
  • I measured the one I use on the MED. it is 16.75"long with a 2 inch wide rake that is 3/4" tall.

  • Rebecca,

The XL might be too wide to work well on the Small. The ash tool from my large works fine with my small, but not sure how much bigger the one is for the XL.

    Good luck.
  • Just put a bandaid on that boo boo Dr. Rebecca.
Was Hank Hill in charge? ;)

  • Hi Clark, the dealer just delivered the ash tool and half moon to my office (that was very nice of them). The ash tool is gargantulan and must be for the XLG or my fireplace. lol. I'll order a small directly from BGE. I commiserate on your healthcare comments from yesterday.
  • Mike, who is Hank Hill????
  • King of The Hill. Comedy, he sales propane. :)

  • Thanks, Rebecca. Sorry to have gotten on my soapbox, but I was post call and tired! Looks like the Dems might self-destruct attempting to reconcile the two bills :ermm: Not getting my hopes up, though.

    Merry Christmas.
  • Egg dealer chiming in here -
    Med-LG ash tool is 16.5" long with a 2" x .75" rake
    XL ash tool is 26" long with a 3" x 1.25" rake

    Hope that helps clarify :)
