First cook... in the snow!

Well, I've been looking forward to this since I first heard about the Egg. Grilling/smoking year round? Even throughout a Chicago winter? Yeah, wasn't sure I could buy into that.

Welps, had a Christmas party to go to last night, and figured I'd whip up some wings. And guess what? That Egg sure as heck didn't know that it was 30-ish degrees outside. Cooked beautifully. Coated the wings in Tsunami Spin and then sauced them (needed them to be more sweet than spicy, kid friendly).

Wow, this is going to be one heckuva a winter! I'll tell you one thing, the Egg will be getting shoveled out before the driveway or front stairs!

Can't wait...

Did the wings travel well ? Did they stay warm/hot? I would like to make wings to take to parties.

They cooled off by the time we got there (it was the second party of the day), so we just popped them into the oven for about 10 minutes. They didn't get hot, but they were warm enough for people to start grabbing them.... and they never quite made it back into the oven

Your wings look great. We've done them direct and indirect, like direct best. Again they look good.

That was my first time doing them direct, as I just put together the raised grid. Really liked the way they came out........ but I lost two wings through the grate!

Poor guys. Sacrificing themselves for the team.
