Don't let the headline fool you. I just invested in a rather expensive 35mm lens adapter for my Sony EX-1 HD camera. The device allows me to use 35mm lenses on the front of the video camera thus providing a far more organic feel to the videos. With this system, I can obtain a shallow depth of field. You see this in high end television and on motion pictures where the item the director wants to draw your attention to is in focus and the background is blurry. So, what better thing to try this out with than the BIG GREEN EGG? I cooked a steak tonight and since the adapter is made by a company called, "Letus," I decided to call this one Steak and Letus. The shots are really incredible. It takes a while to get the hang of this contraption, so hopefully later videos will be even more enjoyable.
Cheers!

Thanks, Mike:
I really love the look and feel of this thing. It will take a while to learn it, but you can see what it can do.

Loved the transitions and the music, too. Felt just like being there! Now if you could add the aroma, who would have to cook anymore :woohoo:

I am working on 'Scratch and Sniff' TV as we speak. Thanks for the kind words. I really love this new adapter.

Very nice job on the video. I also enjoyed the music that you used. Your steak was cooked on on a raised grid instead of at the fire ring level. Any difference ?
You also used wood shavings as well. Soaked ? What kind ?
Again, good job on video and cook.

Hi Gary:
Thank you for your comments on the video. I do cook on the high grid quite often. I did not choose to blacken this steak. If so, then cooking at fire ring level would have been in order. I usually soak cherry, apple and hickory wood before a cook. The air fills with goodness putting the neighbors on notice that Uncle Phil is in the house! It also adds a nice flavor to the meat.
