We had a tip that a new company was selling a BGE like device in St Lucia, British West Indies. So LC and I dressed up like american tourists and flew on down. LC had the best disquise with her Red Sox T Shirt and a Gators hat! We were quickly wisked away in a taxi to our hide out in the mountains.

We checked in under the names Leroy Fidel and Anna Mainegg to throw off any suspicions just in case.
Got to our room and started scanning for the BGE knock off that we had been tip off about.

We didn't see a thing except for these big a$$ hills to the left and right.

LC had a great idea to go down to the town and blend in. So we put on some rasta duds and got down to biz.
We stopped and asked lots of questions about this strange new cooking device that we have heard the stories about at a local dinner, called Fedo's.

Great food and very "helpful", if ya know what I mean.

We were told to go down to the waterfront fresh market and see a lady that sold fried chicken. She was the national sale person for that St Lucian knock off. So off LC and I went. The plan was, I would make some small talk to gain her trust while LC distracted her help at the front counter by ordering some chicken. The plan worked! After days of hunting and asking questions, we found it!

I don't think the mothership has anything to worry about, but we must admit sadley, that was some of the best food we had on the island! With a wiggle in our walk and a smile on our face, mission accomplished and we made it back without anybody to the wiser. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Wow,, I wonder if you have to rotate and balance the fire box?? Welcome home and I hope you left LC's pet spider behind
-
Good work you two.

Mr Tarry the Tarantula is resting well tonight in his stone wall in room X5 in St Lucia....probably showing his massive self to the next guests as I type...LOL!! He could have used a hair cut....
And I have to say....this ladies fried chicken is without a doubt, some of the best I have had in my life!! I will remember her chicken for a VERY long time....3 pieces for $3EC (about $1.20 US). And she was as gratious and kind as could be, explaining that we need to find a welder to put the legs onto the rim for us.... A truly gracious people.
-
wow...I'm droooooling at the backdrop there!....looks like a fantastic adventure....my kind of place. When I see places like that I want to live "off grid".

That looks incredible. Great story too.
-
Jason...We are in complete agreement!! Tim and I even talked that very thing.... We Americans are for the most part oblivious to what really makes for a happy life.
Our best times on this trip were the times we were able to interact and exchange with the locals.
-
Tim,
I cooked on one of them in Costa Rica. Great machines! Did a Pompano I caught and it was brilliant.

Wow! I could spend some time egging there! Hope you enjoyed the mission.
-
The pic's look nice and it sounds like you had a great time as well.
Tim -
Job well done you two!! Knew we could count on you... Not sure about those check-in names though, 3 of 4 four are shady characters... Hee hee
Sure would have like to have tried some of that fried chicken. I bet it was fantastic...
-
You are correct....other than Leroy, those other characters are quite shady!!
I was concerned when Tim selected the names for fear the Local Police would find out.... :ermm: :( -
undoubtedly you have forwarded those pics of the knock off to the mother ship. All I can say is I will volunteer to go on your next mission, regardless of all the inherent dangers involved.

I think Spring Chicken's got you "feathered," Michele!
How do you think he got to be an Old Rooster??
He could "out shady" all the others and still keep that great smile going (it hides a lot of sins)
