Quick Question about Lump

I just finished doing some 1 1/2'' sirloins and am going to be putting on 2 7lb butts. Ive got the egg cooling down from 650 to 250

My question is I loaded the egg the the top of the firebox got it to 650 for my steaks.

Should i top it off with some lump before putting on my butts or should i have enough to cook through the night?

Thanks

Larry

I would top it off for an overnight cook, but that's just my opinion ;) Why risk running out of fuel? :)

  • It should go the distance but you have to remove the grate to put the plate setter in any way so it wouldn't hurt to top it off.

I have a Medium -- and for me to cook overnight, even at Lo-temps, I need more fuel that just t the top of the firebox.

Load that sucker up -- You can always shut it down when done and re-use left-over fuel.
