Besides the normal sides that people eat with steaks, what are some unusual sides that you all would suggest to accompany a ribeye and lobster cook?
thanks

sauteed spinach with garlic and parmesan is one of my favorites
asparagus, squash, grilled romaine
maybe a good wild mushroom risotto
maybe chunk the lobster and do a shellfish and grits side -
steamers, corn on cob, maybe pilaf. maybe some type of bernaise sauce for the steak and ricefukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

I'm sure you will do the normalsides, how about something to cut the rich flavors of the S-n-lobster.Maybe some grilled fruit(nectarines, peaches, pineapple.apple)It will help all the heavy flavors of the proteins.Just my 2cents,enjoy your cookout.

One of my favorites is grilled cauliflower.
Take a head of fresh cauliflower, core it and break it down into med size florets.
Toss with EV olive oil, S&P and some granulated garlic.
Grill direct over lower heat until just tender. -
Randy, I make crash hot potatoes all the time. You're right they are good. Perfect with a steak, great suggestion.
-
Try a couple sweet potatos in with the mix when making crash hots, you won't regret it!
-
I put a lot of rosemary and salt on them and cook until very crispy. -RP

Okay that looks amazing! I mean that is the perfect meal.
-
Thanks Randy, they look awesome. I guess you could do them in a skillet and smush them together.
-
Thanks everyone. I will do the crashed potoatoes. The other night I did grilled brussel sprouts. Similar to the cauliflower idea. They were delicious.
This time I think I will try thick cabbage slices.
What great ideas come from this forum.
Thanks again all! -
I'd second the grilled aparagus, coated with EVOO and a little pepper and kosher salt. You can also grill zucchini rounds similarly coated, then with some grated mozzarella right at the end.
