I am cooking spare ribs and noticed that I am out of apple cider so I was wondering if anyone has substituted orange juice in place of it. I use the apple cider when I do the fourth hour with honey and brwon sugar or with maple syrup and sugar.
thanks

Use melted butter with the brown sugar.

I've wrapped the ribs with apple cider, with orange juice and with beer. Haven't noticed much difference with any of them.

I'm far from a rib expert but I don't think the orange juice would be a good choice. I'd make a quick run to the store for some apple juice. With all the time you've got into them it would be worth it.
