After a few days in the fridge, sliced (deli) ham tends to become slimy. Does anyone know what causes that to happen and if it indicates any kind of health concern.
I am not referring to anything green or otherwise off-color, nor about smell, but only the slippery texture of the sliced ham.

Don't know about you but I usually chuck slimy food in my refrigerator.
It's the water they pack it in that is turning back to gel. If it is kept airtight it last longer.
health issues I can help you with cause I really do throw out slimy food.
