Turkey Size Record for Medium

I think someone asked this about a large the other day. I have a medium egg and a 17 lb turkey. I am going to try and cook it tomorrow when the wind shifts direction (cold). I plan on trussing it up before placing it in the egg. Can it be done? Any suggestions that may be helpful. What is the current record?

Yes,it can be done.I did an 18 lb turkey on my medium four years ago.I had to lay it down, but it worked.Just be sure to dry fit it first.I think I used the platesetter(legs-up)with a drip pan, then a v-rack in the pan.

Thanks for giving me hope! I'll post a photo tomorrow.

I got just under a 14 one on my small and it was great. tucked in tight but doable. you should be golden with 17 on the medium.
