Well, placed my caldo de pollo soup on top my cast iron grill which was above indirect heat at about 250 when suddenly I smelled something acrid. I looked and my pizza stone was on fire...obviously it was burning something off that dripped from the bottom of my aluminum pot. Smelled like burning plastic. I cleaned the pot before using it, too. Well, needless to say, I started over from scratch and this time I used my Dutch Oven..should of used it in the first place. Does anybody have any ideas what happened to the aluminum pot to react that way?? Sounds like a job for Alton Brown!!!!

All I know is that a burning plastic smell from an aluminum pot is not a good thing ;-)
Any pictures?
