Kingsford, yes! Picnic, no!

I've been unhappy with the Picnic charwood for some time now. Too much dust, too high of a percentage of small lump, burning too cool, etc.
I heard somewhere that the Kingsford Charwood (natural hardwood lump) had improved, including eliminating the sparking that was so bothersome.
I tried the improved Kingsford and am very pleased with the results. Plus, the cost is lower.
I am switching to Kingsford Charwood.

Pete,
I have heard that it is better. The Naked Whiz site also comments on an improvement, however said that it is made mostly of small pieces. Have you noticed a change in that?
It would be nice to find another good lump brand that is easier to get (i.e. Kroger or Publix). Thanks for your comments. -

Thanks! Will give it a try.

I have been using the Kingsford for about 3 cooks now. Lump appears to be good size and lighting is no different than RO or BGE. It does seem to burn a little hotter and a little longer. Or maybe it's just my new gaskets getting a better seal. I'm hunting for more as Walmart starts selling off their "seasonal" items.

E, The Picnic is definitely smaller pieces judging by my last few bags.
The Kingsford Charwood bag that I just tried had an appealing sampling of good sized lump...certainly better than recent bags of Picnic lump.
