This is made from 3/8" wide flat bar from the big box store. All you need is a vice and a drill. It works with my BGE original grid, and all my aftermarket grids. The key to making it work with all of them is figuring where to drill the holes for the bolts that hold the grills in place. Flatbar is unpainted steel and will rust quickly, but after a cook or two it will be coated with enough grahdoo so it can be left outside and not rust. If you make one, remember to have the diameter small enough so the edges are not hitting the wall inside your egg because with expansion you could crack your egg.
