OT - Vacation to St. George Island

The family and I are going on vacation to St. George Island leaving tomorrow and was wondering if I could get some restaurant recommendations.
I will be heading down 85 to 185 into Columbus then taking 27 in Florida.
Is there anything along the way that might be good or interesting or both?
How about on the island itself? Any place good to eat? Anything special to do?
Thanks,
Greg

Eat at your condo, food you cook on your "small" that you are taking with.

I stay there every couple years. There is one good restaurant on the island - I believe it is the Blue Parrot, and only a very tiny grocery - very tiny.
Take groceries you will need. Venture off island at least one day in Apalachicola - neat little town with some good seafood and oysters.
What part of the island are you staying on?
The beaches are great, it is very quiet, and the mosquitoes are thick... -
I believe that I am staying right near the boardwalk of downtown.
Personally, I have never been there before.

Definitely a plan.
I just built a carrier for the small based on WessB's instructions. It took all of an hour to do.
Do not have pics of it now though.

You'll be walking (stumbling) distance from the Blue Parrot.
Great place for some fruit flavored cocktails and a terrific sunset.
You'll enjoy it there. Are you staying in the townhouses/condos or are you renting a house? -
Renting a house on the beach with its own private pool.
I'm hoping it will be nice.

Neat place to visit - very quiet and the beach is great. As I remember it one end of the island is a park and the other is a private development. There was one seafood place(Blue Parrott sounds right) and a bagel shop that we visited. Head out to Apalachicola for some good oysters and any shopping you might need to do. There was also a little pizza shop(Mystic Pizza) that was OK. Have fun.

Thanks for the info.
Much appreciated.
