Sockeye Salmon...Oh Wow!

I gotta thank the ones who helped me make tonight's dinner very special. GirlyEgg, your marinade concoction was perfect. I added some sesame seeds, brown sugar, and some maple syrup to the concoction (thanks drogers)...all I can say is WOW!
But first prize goes to LargeMarge. If you've never made her simple Basil Cream Sauce over Sockeye Salmon you're missing something very special! I didn't use enough double cream, so I ended up with a butter consistancy. Instead of re-heating and thinning, I just spooned it on as if it were buerre colbert and let it melt over the hot salmon as soon as it came off the grill.
I knew it would be good, but none of us were expecting such wonderful flavors. This one moves to the top area of my favorite list of cooks. I highly recommend everyone learning Basil Cream Sauce for generously topping Grilled Salmon!

I went and bought the fresh Wild sockeye today. And also did the basil/garlic cream sauce. Added it to the spinach cheese tortelinni, and some diced up veggies....was superb....if I must say so myself. If anything....I'd add more basil to the cream sauce.

too much dinne for the 2 of us. Anyone want the leftovers?
