"The Chicken" without all the heat

At the risk of sounding like a wuss, I gotta confess that me nor the family are real big on the really spicy stuff. Typically, I marinade my chicken in Italian dressing and then maybe throw in a few extras depending on the mood.

So, if I go with wimpy chicken, does that have any impact on the veggies? From The Chicken recipes I've seen it looks like you cook the chicken over the veggies before the sauce ever gets introduced, and then when it does, it's inside the foil.

Just wanted to check before I got things going this evening.

I've cooked the chicken and veggies combination without doing "The Chicken" - the veggies come out fine.

AZRP posted a great recipe of chicken steeped in a vinegar hot sauce. It is terrific. I don't have the link handy, but I'm sure he'll be along soon to post the recipe. Basically cook chicken parts over a pan of veggies. The chicken drippings flavor and lubricate the veggies.

After the chicken is done it is dredged in a sauce and wrapped in foil for about 30 minutes.

we are whimps as well when it comes to heat. cooking the chicken over the veggies is now a weekly thing at my house. my sons rave about it every time and this is how they want chicken cooked. let me know if you want pics of "the whimpy chicken' i have lots . it is a great recipe
