I noticed that my CI grate has 2 broked places on it. Has anyone else had this problem? I haven't done any nuclear cooks. Up to 700 deg once for a short time.

Both of mine have a crack in the outer diameter. I believe it is a stress fracture that is bound to happen.
No problems since they broke. I wouldn't worry about it. -
Just noticed tonight that mine was cracked. Didn't think too much about it as others have posted that they have had the same thing happen to them. I would say we have nothing to worry about.

I havn't checked mine, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was.I think I melted my thermo with this cook :woohoo:

Mark,
I've got exactly the same cracks as you do on the CI grate. That thing is still my favorite grate to cook on, though. -

Fidel, Thirdeye has a great tool for lifting out the cast iron grate on his website. I makes taking the cast iron grate real easy.
