The Cook Shack

Grillin Guy

After Katrina flooded our home here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, we spent the next Thanksgiving with John and Denise Hull in Monroe, LA. Denise had a "cook shack" in her back yard. Nothing more then a tin roof and some treated lumber, it served as the perfect place for grilling, good cigars and entertaining. During our rebuilding process, I was determined to have a cook shack of my own. It's finally finished and I wanted to dedicate it to John and Denise. Thanks for housing us, feeding us and loving us. Hope these pictures come through.

Just got the Egg for Valenties Day.......Still learning on it but I did manage to do my first pork butt last week and a nice crab meat stuffed pork loin this week. Thanks for the good wishes. The Coast WILL rise again!

Looks like you do a lot of cooking around there with all of the units on your deck.I just hope the Green thing is your first choice for your meals and the other ones covered up with covers-well I won't go there. It sure is nice to be able to run out when the rain is coming down by the bucket and not have to worry.Good job and keep up the good work.

The egg is fast becoming the favorite. Versitile, easy to start and more flavor then the law allows. Here's my crab stuffed pork loin
Did everything on the egg....... bacon wrapped shrimp, grilled veggies, potatoes and portabella. The topping is a Anthony sauce......crab meat, shrimp and peppers.

Terry,
Cook shack looks good! Where are you on the Coast? Long Beach here. Love to invite you over for a stogie sometime.

That sounds great Bob. I'm in the Bayou View area of Gulfport. Lets plan on it one weekend that the weather cooperates. Won't be long till it's summer in south Mississippi.

How about a recipe for the loin. Sounds great.

Beautiful part of the country guy..I was stationed at Keesler in the AF in the 70s...lived in Ocean Springs before I got shipped out to Clark in the Phillipines..still miss the area...

uh...don't look now..but I'm pretty sure one of your hairs is out of place there.

Ok Terry, Sounds good. Just went out to my "cook shack" to smoke a cigar, and it wasn't that much fun with all the wind.
