Sometimes it is really difficult to open the lid. What causes that? Is it time to replace the felt?

    ThunderThud,[p]It's usually caused by something that dripped onto the gasket, like basting sauce. As long as you are able to free the lid, it should be OK. After having experienced the problem a couple of times, I am now very careful about how I handle the basting task. The only time I had to replace the gasket was when a couple of "flame outs" burnt the gasket down.[p]Peddler
