No smoke ring in ribs

Smoked 3 racks of baby backs today. Didn't get any smoke ring at all. Same thing I always use. Wicked Good with hickory. Any ideas?

smokinsop,[p]Cooked three racks yesterday. First time I pulled straight from the fridge to the egg. In past room temp, little to no smoke ring. This time ring through 3/4s of ribs. I'll have to retest to make sure of results. At this point my thinking is cold meat = more ring.[p]Happy Eggin
