While there has been quite a few posts about the TurboGrate recently, a device that I think is terrific, I decided to do a little test since I am making steaks tonight. The lump that is in my egg has been used 4 - 5 times this week. All I did was bump the grate and the light it in 4 spots using a Mapp torch. Six minutes later the egg was up to 700 degrees and the lump was lit completely around the Turbograte and ready for the steaks. While you can do this with the stock grate I never timed it for a 700 degree startup. A little disclaimer "Individual results may vary.[p]

Rick's Tropical Delight,
Rick I would have taken some pics but after seeing your masterpieces I have picture envy. As too your question Peter Luger's has nothing on an egg cooked steak!!
