Our first slow cook went well and the ribs were to die for! We used what we learned from your class at Omaha and your detailed recipe in "Playing with Smoke and Fire". We purchased our meat from a local butcher and they looked great going in. The other bonus is that we spent the 5 hours getting some yard work done and the rewards couldn't have been better. Feel sorry for the trash haulers.....great smelling trash....smokey bones.... and too many containers of tree limbs and trimmings.
Thanks again for sharing and we are looking forward to something in the KC area.[p] Sorry no pics. We haven't gotten that down yet. Ha![p]One more thing.....how can we get the most slabs on our large? We did 3 on a rib rack and we had cut the slabs in half so that the ends did not hang over the drip pan.
Happy Eggin,
Carol

Chubby,
I suspected him for a Goober .....I think he drank the Heethins' Water in Omaha...... but thanks for the warning!
OK, I'm a Goober 2.

I cut 3 ribs off the short end of each rack and stack on top of the rib rack I use. I don't use a V-Rack anymore and don't have a pic of the one I use. Glad you enjoyed them.
BTW, beware of the Love that Chubby is dishing out.[p]Mike

Car Wash Mike ,
I thought the one used in Omaha was a rectangular one with a wire type support system for the ribs. I think we saw one like it at HOme Depot today. Was the Omaha set up the one you usually use?
-
eggbasket,
Yes, the one in Omaha is what I use now.[p]Mike

dhuffjr,
Some people have subjective hearing. I have subjective seeing.
I'm sure that explains everything. Can't wait for the entire circus at Hotlanta. My rib painter going to be around to help?[p]Mike

Car Wash Mike,
Sure will......I'm thinking about getting him a shirt or appron that says "got ribs?" His sister is quite the painter herself. Somehow my thee rib brushes with removable heads had their heads disappear today........I had to use a spoon to spread the love around......good think it goes on like paste :>)[p]H
