Cedar Plank Salmon & Scallops?

Options

edited November -1 in EggHead Forum
Going to do my usual cedar plank salmon but this time I plan on adding some scallops to the mix. Wondering if I should put everything on at once or add the scallops about half way in? [p]I usually plank at 325-350. Salmon usually takes about half hour to 40 min. [p]Also does anyone have a good rub suggestion for scallops? I was thinking Old Bay but would appreciate any suggestions. [p]Thanks!

Hmmmm, that sounds like a familiar cook. LOL If they are small scallops I put them on after the salmon. I brine in salt water for about 5 minutes and for seasoning I like just sea salt and lemon pepper or Raging River or Tsunami Spin. Sometimes I will spoon some melted butter and lemon juice on them about halfway through the cook.[p]~thirdeye~

    thirdeye,
Nice! That looks great. We got some bigun sea scallops about 2" wide. I will definitely try your brine then sea salt lemon pepper rub method. Sadly still no Dizzy Pig, all this TX rain killed a portion of our fence. Saving up our loot for some lumber.
    Thanks, Amaury
