I've read a few posts about a remote temperature gauge that can sound an for notification of flare-ups and temp fluctuation.
Is this for real. Does it work well? Where can I get one?
Is there information available somewhere on the web?
What do the pro's use?

Do a search on Maverick ET73 remote thermometer. That unit is wireless and allows you to set min and max temp alarms for the pit as well as an alarm for the food. Mine works pretty well and I wouldn't be without one. Others have had problems with the reception range.
