Morning thirdeye:[p]Did too much cooking this weekend at the EggFest with too few pictures of the food. However, last night had my son over for his birthday dinner.[p]Four nice NY Strips, two with EZ Life and two with Raising the Steaks.[p]P3190046.jpg[p]Along with some baked potatoes:[p]P3190049.jpg[p]Made for some tasty eatin'[p]P3190050.jpg[p]Little Wesley had some of the baked tators and was really eyeing the steaks, but Mom just wouldn't give him any, so he had to settle for chewing on a toy. Not very filling, but was satisfying to someone getting their teeth.[p]P3190054.jpg[p]Have a GREAT day!

    thirdeye,
Thanks for the response. Your cabbage looks way more done than mine turned out. I think the basting and foiling are the ticket. Will give it a go. I'm with you on cabbage and bbq sauce, not my cup of tea.
    Thanks again,
    Bob

    stike,
Just the base to hold it upright. Sounds like foiling and steaming is the ticket.
    Thanks, Bob

<p />thirdeye,[p]Here's the butt I cooked with my dad this past weekend. It turned out fabulously - a 16-hour cook. He took some in to his office today and said he got rave reviews.[p]For the first time I used a 1:1 mixture of turbinado and SHAKIN' THE TREE - man oh man what a great combination. That Shakin' the Tree is for sure my new favorite Dizzy creation.[p]Sadly I have no pics of the final product due to the crazed eating frenzy that ensued once the butt was pulled, but don't this raw chunk 'o pork look purty?[p]Happy Woosday all![p]TRex
