Is there a clear winner? beer can stand says Ideal for smoking
a turkey, other way would be more traditional with apple, onion
and what ever stuffed inside for flavor? would the times and temps
be alot diferent?

RittmanRod,[p]Although I haven't tried it, it looks like a Foster's Beer can would be just about perfect for a small turkey.[p]Ed

Egginator, the Malt Liquor can works well. I can't remember but I think it is a 24 oz. can.

The beer can turkey will cook faster.
I made two last year with the cheap wire frame
turkey stands that hold a standard 12 oz can.
This year we are doing one of each and a stuffed pork loin and one Turkey inside on electric spinner.
My Aunt was bummed last year because we did not have any left overs.
